GIACOMO PICCINI WILL RACE WITH WRC IN VARANO

Giacomo Piccini will participate in the third last race of the Italian Formula 3 championship on the Varano track with the WRC Team from Vicenza.

Giacomo Piccini`s separation from Imola Racing is related to techno- economic reasons.

Although this is the young Tuscan`s first season in Formula 3, Giacomo is in 4th place in the general classification and conquered two 2nd place wins in Binetti and Imola.

Giovanni Minardi, Manager
"I'm happy that we've come to this agreement with the WRC Team for the Varano race. I'm sure this choice will give Giacomo the possibility to work in better technical conditions. I think and believe that I can guarantee my driver better conditions to finish the championship as one of the leaders."

Giacomo Piccini
"With three races left to go, I seriously risked not finishing the championship. It would have been a real pity seeing that I'm fourth in the classification. Luckily, we managed to come to a satisfying agreement with WRC. I don't know the staff of this team but I do know that their many years of experience in Formula 3 gives me the confidence of knowing that I have a very competitive car at my disposition. This also mean that I can be one of the leaders at the end of the season."

Franco Ghiotto, WRC Team
"I have observed Giacomo Piccini's performance since the beginning of the season and I must say that he has technical talent and is quite fast. I'm therefore happy that he can race with us in Varano and I have faith that we will have good results."
