IFM: Vice-champ Fabio Leimer returns to series

2008 Vice-Champion Fabio Leimer will return to Formula Master for a second season this year, with team Jenzer Motorsport.

The 19-year-old Swiss claimed the runner-up spot in last season's Drivers' Classification, scoring eight podiums including three wins on the way to the Vice-Champion title. Improving dramatically throughout the year, Leimer finished on the podium in the last six races of the season, before been given the chance to test with Indy Lights in America and GP2 in Europe by Formula Master.

"I knew I wanted to come back quite soon after the last season ended," said Leimer who raced with Jenzer Motorsport last year in Formula Master. "It's the top feeder series and I'm aiming for the title; that's the only result that will do!

"Jenzer Motorsport's a great team and we showed we had the ability to compete at the very top last year. We work really well together and I look forward to getting back to racing in May, before hopefully graduating to a higher series in 2010."

Team Jenzer Motorsport will be running two cars once again, with Leimer's team-mate set to be announced in the next few days.
