10/TENTHS Motorsport Announces Team Drivers for the 2006 Cooper Tires Formula Ford 2000 Championship

Alpharetta, GA (April 26, 2006) -- Atlanta-based formula car prep shop 10/TENTHS Motorsport returns to the Cooper Tires Formula Ford 2000 Championship with a three-car effort driven by Wladimir Genovesi, Cole Morgan, and William Wald.

Competing in the highly contested junior open-wheel professional series since 2002, 10/TENTHS owners Bill and Craig Vogeley are looking forward to the 2006 season. "After much hard work, everything came together very quickly and I am excited about our driver line up," says 10/TENTHS principal Craig Vogeley. "Wladimir is a valuable, new addition to our team. We expect great results from him. We are extremely pleased to have Cole Morgan joining us again after a positive three race 'taste' of the Series in 2005. One of our long-time amateur drivers Bill Wald will join us for select events. And, James Lee is returning as a member of our crew. James' driver coaching and engineering skills complement our program."

Genovesi, 26, from Sao Paulo, Brazil, is a single seater veteran, driving to the top of the fiercely competitive Brazilian karting scene in his teen years. He finished second and achieved "Rookie of the Year" honors in the 1999 Pro Formula Mazda Championship, won several races and set track records in 2000 with the Skip Barber Race Series, then started classes in a Sao Paulo medical university while working to secure sponsorship. Genovesi started the 2006 season in a professional west coast series, but after learning the Cooper Series schedule joins the ChampCar World Series on four occasions and twice with the American LeMans Series, he decided the Cooper Tires Formula Ford 2000 Championship would have the most effective exposure for his talents and sponsors Ortopedia Germania and Medartis. "I tested with 10/TENTHS in April on two occasions. It was my first experience in the Ford Zetec powered Van Diemen chassis,â^a^y explains Genovesi. â^a^ÜIt is solid and fast. I drove nearly 300 test miles concentrating on race setup and balance under different fuel loads. The team gave me a very good car and I feel as a team we can win."

Morgan, 17, from Lighthouse Point, FL is ready to return to contest the 2006 season. "The competition is fantastic in the Cooper Series. I am excited and looking forward to winning races. I know the team very well and we have a great relationship. When Craig and Bill Vogeley and my engineer James Lee put their heads together great things happen. The team is very professional and has all the necessary resources to win. I can't wait for the season to get underway.â^a^y Morgan continues, â^a^ÜRoad Atlanta is one of my favorite tracks; in fact I just set the new formula continental lap record there in March. I am excited to work with my teammates and provide them with any help I can. This sport is all about team and I am lucky to have one of the best in the business." Cole drove in three Cooper Series races last season, finishing seventh out of a forty-one car field in the season opening round, having never driven the car prior to the event. He also out qualified the 2005 Series champion Jay Howard at the challenging Mid Ohio Sports Car Course, starting third on the grid. Cole went on to qualify second in the SCCA National Runoffs in the Formula Continental class. Cole is sponsored by Morgan Homes.

Wald, 48, from Treasure Island, FL has raced formula cars at an amateur level since 2002 with Skip Barber and SCCA. Bill competed in his first Cooper Series race at the ChampCar Grand Prix of Cleveland in 2005 and enjoyed the competition and the event so much, he's added select Cooper Series â^a^ÜGold Cupâ^a^y class events to his busy club racing schedule. Billâ^a^Ùs sponsors are Firehouse Subs and BB Choppers.

The Cooper Tires Formula Ford 2000 Championship is sanctioned by the National Auto Sports Association and represents one of the first rungs on the professional open-wheel auto racing ladder in North America. The Series features modern, purpose-built single-seat racing cars powered by either four-cylinder, double-overhead cam, fuel-injected 2.0-litre Ford Zetec engines, which produce about 160 hp, or the older, slightly less powerful single-overhead cam, carbureted 2.0-litre Ford engine which will be vying for Cooper Series "Gold Cup" honors. All cars will use treadless Cooper Zeon racing tires and are capable of speeds in excess of 140mph.
