Westphal Streak Continues in Round 4 for PR1 Motorsports

Willow Springs, Calif. (April 5, 2008) - Jeff Westphal has extended his streak of pole positions to three this morning by taking the pole for Round 4 with a time of 1:18.759, nearly half a second of his time of yesterday but still the only one to break into the 1:18's. Driving his TNT Demolition/Cacci Construction Van Diemen for PR1 Motorsports, he put in his time early in the session and came in to the pits to conserve his tires for the race but ready to go back out if needed. The time held up despite the best efforts of Dave Freitas Racing's Robert Podlesni in his Terminal Velocity/Alpinestars Van Diemen and Peter Hansel in his Comar Performance Inc., GS610 Maximum Performance Brake Fluid Van Diemen who got within .4 of a second clocking 1:19.095 and 1:19.126 respectively.

Lining up on the second row next to Hansel will be Shaun Modisette in his PR1 Motorsports, Carson Trailer's Van Diemen whose time of 1:19.175 was good enough for forth starting position.

Row three will consist of Nick Freytag, PR1 Motorsports, G Phactory/Sodi Kart Van Diemen, 1:19.282 and Peter Hastrup, Dave Freitas Racing, Western Building Materials Van Diemen, 1:19.456.

Seventh and eighth will be Max Hyatt in his PR1 Motorsports, Performance Drink Van Diemen at 1:19.547 and the Kodenko Racing Van Diemen of Nick Kodenko at 1:19.843. Kodenko's time was just over a second off the pole time, a tremendous improvement for the CSU Fresno student.

The Dave Freitas Racing Van Diemen of Chuck Hulse will line up ninth next to the Piper of Scott Rarick. The top ten all being within 1.7 of a second of the best time means there should be some exciting racing later today when the race is green flagged at 1:25pm this afternoon.
