What to Watch
DEBUT OF FORMULA SCCA CHAMPIONSHIP
The championship will feature identical Van Diemen Formula SCCA cars, using 2.3-liter Mazda Duratec motors. Contesting the championship will be several karting stars, as well as SCCA Champions from other classes.
ZETEC DOMINANCE AT SEBRING
While the winner driver from last year's two rounds at Sebring has not returned to the Zetec Championship, the team he ran with, Cape Motorsports returns with a three-car effort. In addition to winning last year, the team won both rounds in 2002 as well.
SEBRING WINNERS BECOMING CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDERS
In the four years since the Zetec Championship returned to Sebring in 1999, the race winner at Sebring has gone on to win the championship twice (Wheldon in 1999, Sellers in 2001) and been runner-up once (Barber in 2003). The defending series champion and team are not running at Sebring in 2004.
