Rain played a decisive role as Scott Bradley, a 20-year-old racer from Menlo Park, Calif., took the pole position for round five of the United States Formula Ford 2000 National Championship at Watkins Glen International. Jeret Schroeder was second fastest in qualifying. The Vineland, N.J. driver will start his Ireland Coffee-Tea/Purity Farms Swift on the outside of the front row for Sunday's event. Chris Fahan, of Redding, Conn., Christian Vandal, of Quebec, Canada, and Jimmy Chianis, of Escondido, California, round out the top five.
