Jim Bowie Named Director of Marketing At the Skip Barber Racing School
LAKEVILLE, Conn. - Skip Barber announced today that Jim Bowie has been appointed Director of Marketing. Bowie, who has more than 15 years of experience in the motorsports industry, will focus on cultivating and servicing sponsor and corporate partnerships for the entire Skip Barber Racing School organization. "Jim brings a strong background in marketing to our company," Skip Barber said. "We are aggressively looking to expand our company both internationally and domestically, and Jim will play an integral role in the future growth of the Skip Barber Racing School." Bowie has a multi-dimensional background in motorsports marketing and has worked with teams and drivers on the CART FedEx Championship Series and Indy Racing League including Arie Luyendyk, Scott Goodyear, Mark Blundell, and Mauricio Gugelmin. At Skip Barber, Bowie will coordinate the marketing and sponsorship efforts for all of the school's operations including the Barber Dodge Pro Series, the premier open-wheel developmental series in the country; the Formula Dodge Race Series, the largest open-wheel amateur championship in North America; the Skip Barber Scholarship Ladder, the most comprehensive motorsports scholarship system in the United States; the Skip Barber Racing School; and the Dodge/Skip Barber Driving School. The Skip Barber Racing School is the global leader in the performance driving and training industry and has provided training for one-fourth of the current field in NASCAR Winston Cup and one-third of the drivers in the Indianapolis 500 for the past decade. The school's roster of clients includes NASCAR Winston Cup champions Jeff Gordon and Bill Elliott, CART Champ Car stars Michael Andretti, Bryan Herta and Juan Montoya, and well-known celebrities such as Jerry Seinfeld and Paul Newman.
