Bosch Engineering 250 - Pigot's Luck Continues, on Pole for Round Six
Danville, Va. (April 25) Qualifying for Round 6 of the BFGoodrich/Skip Barber National Presented by Mazda at Virginia International Raceway was a quiet affair. Despite the scattered rain showers in the beginning of the day, the track was slowly starting to dry by the beginning of the session.
Early on, Ashley Freiberg and MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development driver Spencer Pigot separated themselves from the rest of the pack, trying to work off each other to gain an advantage, however, only after a few minutes, Ashley went four off near turn 10, but was able to continue.
Brandon Newey and Dennis Trebing were the next drivers to go four-off but both were able to continue. Felix Serralles was first to climb to the top with Isaac Lyons and Michael Dorrbecker on his heels. Pigot, yesterday's race winner, ultimately clinched the pole position with 2:22.551. Only seven thousandths of a second behind was Brandon Newey (2.22.558), followed by Scott Anderson (2:23.030).
