Bell Places 5th in Barber Dodge Return
Townsend Bell, from Los Altos Hills CA, qualified fifth and finished fifth in his first race back to the Barber Dodge Pro Series. Bell had missed three races due to sponsorship but produced a solid showing thanks to renewed support from sponsors Direc PC and PC World Magazine.
"At a track like Laguna it's difficult to make any passes once the field thins out. I was concentrating on a clean start and a top five finish so I guess things went OK. It was unfortunate that we had difficulty getting a clean lap in qualifying because I felt like the Direc PC/ PC World Reynard Dodge was capable of starting higher up than fifth on the grid. But we'll take it."
Bell plans to run the final three races of the 1998 season with the next round being at Road Atlanta with the Petit Le Mans October 9-10.
A new associate sponsor is expected to be announced shortly.
