2º Meeting (Albacete) 1/2 MAY 2004

Barcelona, 28 April 2004 -- The second meeting of the Formula Junior Spanish Championship will take place in Albacete this weekend. The first two races were dominated by the two official drivers of the Spanish team Escuela Lois Circuit, Marco Barba (two wins and two poles) and Arturo Llobell (who started second in both races).

Formula Junior is regarded as an important appointment with some of the most talented young drivers of the moment. Aged between 14 and 17, most of the grid still combines single seater competition with karting.

Adrian Valles, 2002 Champion, was kept under the RDD program after taking the Championship in a superb way.

His name still appears on top of the statistics as the best driver of this Championship ever with a record of 8 wins.

In Madrid, Manel Cerqueda achieved his first podium (3rd), placing his team Automòbil Club D'Andorra, second in the standings. The young Belgian ace Michael Herck completed the podium in the second race.

Javier Mingorance (best rookie 2004 in the Series so far) and Jose Miguel Gutierrez, both debuted in the Repsol Racing for Spain Team achieving some valuable points.
