Carrera Cup: Lacko Will Start From Second Row
Fourth best time, which means second row on the grid - that was Adam Lacko's timed training result for tomorrow's race of the Porsche Carrera Series in Nuremberg. It's the best qualification result in the series of this young Czech driver. He did great on the track nicknamed German Monaco. The Norisring race, run within the DTM series again, is always the peak of the season. The number of spectators exceeds 100,000 every year.
Farnbacher Racing's pilot had this superb run after two free practice sessions which were far from successful for him: 25th in the first, 16th in the second. However, what matters is the qualification, which turned out so well in the changing weather. As in previous PCC races, the competition is huge - the 2.3-kilometer track is packed with 38 identical Porsche cars.
Adam Lacko: "Finally. I couldn't wait to achieve such a result. It was wet in the beginning. Then the road dried out just to get wet again; pure lottery. And on top of that, Armindo of France had a wild crash right in front of me. He almost rolled over which meant the red flag went out. When the qualification was rerun, the surface was drying and I tried dry tires for the first time. It wasn't good, though. Then I got another set of tires which was a big improvement. I was surprised to set my best time in a lap during which I overtook several cars and even missed the braking point once. I'm really happy; I needed a result like this. Now I only need to be just as good in the race itself."
