GEDDIE AIMING FOR CARRERA CUP PODIUM AT SILVERSTONE
Scottish racing driver Glynn Geddie returns to Silverstone after his British GT win on Sunday, for Rounds 13 and 14 of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB this weekend.
The BRDC Rising Star struggled with oversteer last time out at Snetterton but still managed to score points in both races with 4th and 5th places respectively. However Geddie is optimistic going into this weekend on Silverstone's National circuit and confirms he and the Team Parker Racing squad have continued to make progress with the car.
Geddie lies fifth in the championship standings on 128 points and is battling it out for the third slot with team mates Euan Hankey and Stephen Jelley, who are tied on 137 points, having reduced the gap to third by 8 points at Snetterton.
Glynn Geddie:
"We were really strong at Silverstone on the media day in March and were
only something like 33-hundredths off (Michael) Caine who topped the
timesheets. That was before the season started though and everyone has
been making improvements race by race, but then again so have we, and we
made progress at Snetterton which we hope to carry through to
Silverstone.
"There's always work to do but we've closed down the points deficit to third in the championship which is the immediate target. I'll guess we'll start to get a clearer picture of where everyone is, especially Euan Hankey) and Stephen (Jelley), when we test tomorrow, so we must try to get a headstart and keep motivated to get on the podium this weekend.
