When ken Block announced his global rally program with Ford in January it was the culmination of a dream, as Block found himself entered in seven World Rally Championship (WRC) events. For Block, who has carved a niche as one of the top America rally drivers on the planet, it was a chance for him to test his skill against the best in the world. Block was quite open about the challenges he faced in 2010 running the Rally America series and a limited WRC schedule while competing in X Games and producing Gymkhana THREE. Block talks about improving in the WRC following a season best finish of ninth in last week's WRC stop in Spain.

KEN BLOCK - Monster Energy Ford Focus RS - YOU'VE SHOWN STEADY IMPROVEMENT IN THE WRC FINISHING TWELVTH IN FRANCE AND THEN NINTH LAST WEEKEND IN SPAIN, WHAT HAS BEEN THE KEY?

"The key has been staying on the road. We've had some very good stage times this year. Probably the worst was at the beginning of the year and the newness of the events and the newness of the car kept me from having a consistent car. The last couple of events have gone a lot smoother. My co-driver Alex [Gelsomino] has been more confident and comfortable with what we're doing and the results have just sort of come. Unfortunately I was in eighth place in Germany and we had a mechanical failure and dropped out and then we had a good finish in France as well but we had a mechanical issue there so I was actually really happy to get that finish this weekend without any mechanical issues whatsoever. It was just a good consistent drive."

YOUR GOAL THIS YEAR WAS TO GAIN EXPERIENCE IN THE WRC WITH IT BEING A FIRST YEAR PROGRAM. EVEN WITH ALL OF THE UPS AND DOWNS WOULD YOU CONSIDER THIS YEAR A SUCCESS?

"I think it is a success. The main success for me is that I've been able to show that I have the speed to be where I want to be, unfortunately my consistency has been a bit off this year. I haven't been able to finish these rallies the way that I wanted. That's unfortunate, but overall it's gone quite well, I just feel like I should have more points and more finishes this year so I'm just a bit bummed about that."

YOU HAVE ONE RACE LEFT IN THE WRC THIS YEAR. WHAT'S YOUR OUTLOOK FOR NEXT YEAR?

"We have one race left it's the Rally of Great Britain. It's a very difficult rally. It's a cold time of year so that means it's very cold, rainy and dreary out there. We're looking to go there and looking to get just another good consistent result. The outlook for next year looks like an expanded program in the WRC. I won't be doing all of them because I have some conflicts with some of the events in the States, but I'll be doing most of them. I'm going to continuing doing some events and things such as Gymkhana, X Games and various events around the world. The outlook looks like I'm going to be even busier next year and if I continue to do the right projects I should be able to continue to enjoy myself like I have this year."

YESTERDAY ENDED THE 43 FIESTAS SWEEPSTAKES WHICH YOU WERE INVOLVED IN. HOW WAS IT WORKING ON THE PROGRAM AND WORKING WITH RICHARD PETTY AND AJ ALLMENDINGER?

"It was really cool. It's great to see Ford doing some cool and innovative marketing with the Fiesta. I really enjoyed meeting Richard Petty and getting to meet AJ [Allmendinger]. I really enjoyed working on that project."
