Criterium Jurassien (CH) - April 19 & 20th 2002

Successful come-back for Future World driver Jaquillard

Finishing second of the Criterium Jurassien, round two of the 2002 Swiss Rally Championship, Christian and Christiane Jaquillard signed a successful come-back. For their discovery of a Toyota WRC tuned by Belgian team Future World, "the" Jaquillard offered a great fight to the long-time Toyota runner Burri.

Friday evening, home driver Burri made a short difference (15") in SS2, a long special stage he knew very well. Saturday morning, Jaquillard closed the gap before driving a wet 17 km special stage (SS7) with "slik" tyres. Jaquillard took no risk and Toyota skilled Burri signed the best time. Author of other "scratches", three times Swiss champion Jaquillard threatened his rival till the last service. Saturday evening, satisfied, the Future World driver decided to secure precious points for the championship. After winning Swiss competition in Lyon-Charbonnières (F), round one, Uzzeni (Impreza 2001) finished third at 5'30".

"Chasing Burri for a first rally at the wheel of a Toyota WRC is a real performance, told Gerard Magniette team manager of Future World. Christian likes the way the Toyota react. We knew that and he showed it to many observators, signing impressive "scratches". Now, he just has to increase his practise with the car in raining conditions."

Year 2002 started perfect for team Future World with two wins and three podiums out of six rallies. Next event for Belgian squad is Rallye de Wallonie (May 4th & 5th), round two of the home division 1 rally championship with 2000 champion Rocco Theunissen.
