GRC: Future World Saarland-Rallye summary

First S1600 appearance, first win. for Future World and Tsjoen

At the wheel of a Renault Clio S1600 entered by Future World, Pieter Tsjoen and co-driver Eddy Chevaillier have clinched their first victory in the S1600 category. Tsjoen has chosen the Saarland-Rallye - round 4 of the German rally championship - to prepare the Ypres Westhoek Rally (ERC20). Schwarz (D - Fabia WRC) won the overall classification while Tsjoen was the top S1600 runner, beating off fellow S1600 official drivers Haaf (D - Saxo) and Schelle (D - Ignis).

Friday afternoon, Tsjoen punctured in SS2 and lost 6 seconds. He forgot his misfortune while signing a first "scratch" in the SS3, the longest special stage of the rally (27,1 km). Tsjoen started to push hard and he battled with the other S1600 contenders. At the end of the first day he managed to take the second place. 2,3 seconds behind Haaf. Saturday morning, the rain appeared. Tsjoen signed the "scratch" in SS9 but a new puncture cost him again 10 seconds. Classified fourth of the category, R
