Miguel Campos/Carlos Magalhães crowned 2002 Rally Champs
7th win in a row for Peugeot at Rali Rota do Vidro

The Peugeot Total Silver Team SG enthusiastically celebrated at Marinha Grande after conquering the absolute driver and co-driver Portuguese rally titles, with the pair, Miguel Campos/Carlos Magalhães totally dominating the Rali Rota do Vidro for the 7th year in a row with a considerable advantage to rival Rui Madeira (3.08,5), collecting 10 valuable points and granting the title. With yet 3 events to be run until the end of the season, the virtual Portuguese Rally Championship title has only enriched the Peugeot team history, being this, the 10th championship title to be won by Peugeot in Portugal.

Miguel Campos: "It is a dream come true, to which I mainly owe to the Peugeot Total Silver Team staff. I patiently waited for a year, but the taste of this win is so much better than I imagined, especially since there is still a third of the championship to be run. We all deserve the title, moreover because we were able to prove that we were the most professional team by ending on the podium in every event we participated in this year".

The Peugeot Total Silver Team SG, directed by Carlos Barros, attained it's 28th win and its 50th podium in this European Rally Championship event: "Peugeot's history is intimately associated with the Rali Rota do Vidro, were we are consecutive winners since 1996. All the Team elements responsible for this result and for the 4th Drivers Championship title entirely deserved this award. It was Peugeot 206 WRC's 13th win, which reflects the importance of our project based on Portuguese personnel, proving that Portuguese with the right working conditions are as good as any other foreign team", affirmed Carlos Barros.

Young Miguel Campos has other reasons for celebrating this fab result. Campos has been delivering consistent results, being this his 49th participation without one withdraw, proving his excellent performance and immense qualities as a driver which has conquered 6 wins, and 12 podium position in the 12 rallies he participated at the wheel of the silver and blue Peugeot 206 WRC. As for Co-driver, Carlos Magalhães, this will be his second absolute co-driver championship title, 10 years after his first win in the championship.

The Peugeot Total Silver Team SG may also boast its 10th championship title, of which 4 were Driver Championship titles, others co-driver championship, and 2 Constructors Championship. In 62 participations the Team directed by Carlos Barros conquered 27 wins and climbed 50 times to the podium steps, including World Championship events.
