Another overall win for Symtech Racing !

Symtech Racing, which runs the official Subaru Poland programme on the Polish Rally Championship, has claimed another overall win thanks to Kajetan Kajetanowicz, Jarek Baran and the Subaru Impreza STR09. The season ended on the Dolnoslaski Rally just as it started on the Elmot Rally: with victory for Kajetanowicz and Symtech Racing.

The Dolnoslaski Rally, which was the final round of the year, took place entirely on asphalt. This is a surface that Kajetanowicz particularly enjoys, and he demonstrated his commitment by moving straight into the thick of the fight for the overall lead. The first day, held on quick and challenging roads, was entirely dry and sunny - pushing drivers and cars to the limit. Leszek Kuzaj, one of the frontrunners, was forced into retirement during the first day, underlining the complexity of the Dolnoslaski event. By the overnight halt, Kajetanowicz held a solid third position in his Symtech Racing Subaru Impreza STR09.

Changing weather conditions throughout the second day made life even more difficult for the competitors. Tyre choice proved to be critical, and after lengthy consultation between the team and drivers, the option selected for the Subaru Poland car turned out to be the right one. From that point on, Kajetanowicz began to put together an impressive series of fastest stage times! The opposition continued to fall by the wayside, with the retirement of Thomas Kuchar due to technical problems. Only Bryan Bouffier remained in contention for victory, but he gradually lost ground to the Subaru crew. Finally, the Frenchman was forced to call it a day on the very last stage with mechanical difficulties.

The second car run by Symtech Racing, for the 2008 Ukrainian champion Youri Protasov, also enjoyed a successful opening day. He put his Subaru Impreza sixth overall and set some impressive stage times. Unfortunately Protasov then made went off the road that destroyed his car on the opening stage of day two (Saturday).

Kajetan Kajetanowicz : "We're absolutely delighted with this win as we really had to fight hard for it. I'd like to thank Symtech Racing once more for the excellent work they have carried out all season. Again, I was able to benefit from a car that was perfectly competitive and reliable throughout the rally."

Witold Rogalski, Managing Director of Subaru Poland: "It's great to end the season in this way. We're very happy with the team and the drivers, who showed this year that the Group N Subaru Impreza can be very competitive against the Super 2000 cars."

Wim De Boeck, Symtech Racing: "With two wins from six rallies and top-five finishes on the other events, I think we have nothing to complain about! It's been a great year for us in Poland and it's been a pleasure to work with Kajto and Jarek, who like ourselves have exhibited the utmost professionalism in the constant quest for victory. We can't wait to continue our successful collaboration."

With the season now at an end, the team has emerged with third place in the overall championship and second in Group N.
