La Malbaie (Québec, Canada), October 22, 2000.- This week signals the final sprint to fix up the last details for Rallye International de Charlevoix Export "A" before the start is given on Friday October 27, 2000, at 12:00 PM noon time.

For the first time in the history of this rally counting toward the North American Rally Cup, the Subaru/Yokohama Canadian Rally Championship and the Québec Rally Cup, the event has been entered in the FIA International calendar and will pitch together competitors non only from Québec and other canadian regions, but also from United States and Europe, as well. The Rallye International de Charlevoix Export "A" is gearing up to be one of the great motorsports events to be held in the province of Québec.

Among the favorite drivers entered in this 14th edition, are Canadian Championship and Québec Rally Cup competitors Sylvain Vincent, Tom McGeer, Yves Barbe, Frank Sprongl, Jon Nichols, John Buffum, etc., and Belgians Bob Colsoul, a regular WRC driver and François Duval, a 19 year-old rising star. But the 30 to 40,000 spectators expected to line the rally route will also be watching very closely driver Érik Comas, a rally newcomer who has been showing exceptional rally skills in the events he's run this spring. Many times European open-wheel series champion and F1 driver in the early 90's, Comas is flying straight from Japan where he clinched the runner-up title in the National GT/Sport-Prototype championship last weekend.

This 2000 edition of the Rallye International de Charlevoix Export "A" will be particularly tough on the competitors who, over the 3-day rally, will go all out on forest roads. But only a chosen few, those who will cross the finish line on Sunday, will get to share a global amount of $25,000 in prize money. Rallye International de Charlevoix Export "A" invites you to be part of this unique motorsports event this coming weekend!
