Franz Wittmann/Bernhard Ettel lie in excellent second overall place after day one of the Rallye Waldviertel

The Interwetten Duo, for the first time in the Peugeot 207 S2000, gives a successful performance at this testing assignement

The motto in the Waldviertel is "learning" and getting to know the car

So far things go extremely well for Franz Wittmann/ Bernhard Ettel at the 29th edition of the Rallye Waldviertel in the Horn area. After day one, the Interwetten Duo lies in second overall place - only 27,4 seconds behind leader Raimund Baumschlager.

Franz Wittmann, for the first time in a Peugeot 207 from ROMO Motorsport of German Ronald Löschhorn, improved from special stage to special stage:

"I am really very satisfied. We are getting to know the car better and better. Yet we still have not reached the limit of the car, by far. At the beginning of the rally I mainly wanted to find a rhythm that would allow me to compete with the speed of my opponents on the one hand, but on the other hand would not pose too much of a risk and enable me to keep the car on the road under these difficult conditions. I managed both quite well, so far. I hope for a similar performance tomorrow. But there is one thing I can already say: it's a lot of fun driving a S2000 car", explained the Lower Austrian in the service zone Horn.

The Rallye Waldviertel will be continued tomorrow, Saturday, October 31 with further six special stages and end at 17.44 on the finish ramp in Horn.
