same strategy as last year: Prepare a race winning vehicle and finish as many events as possible.

The national events have become endurance events, a real test of man and machine and to finish an event has become an accolade on its own. The overall strategy ultimately requires good mechanical preparation together with a race attitude of 'You first have to finish before you can finish first!'

Marsh and Whitehouse the current class A champions will compete in the Nissan Dealers 400, the opening round of the ABSA off road championship that takes place in the Western Cape, in their rebuilt Chevy V8 powered BAT Spec-1. The team was the overall winners of the event last year and are looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead at this year's event.

The Nashua Mobile BAT Spec-1 has received a few minor upgrades for the 2006 season. Consistent overheating problems which saw Marsh and Whitehouse having to be cautious during last season has been resolved with the fitting of a bigger and better radiator. The suspension has also received further attention in order to prepare the vehicle for the tough season ahead.

The 2006 Nashua Mobile team will have further representation in class S in the form of Archie Rutherford and Craig Doubtfire. Rutherford has off road experience as both a driver and navigator and together with Doubtfire will stand a good chance of winning the 2006 national class S championship in their Nissan powered Raceco.

The Nissan Dealers 400 off-road event will start at the Darling Club at 13h00 on Friday 17 March with a 40 kilometre prologue that will determine the starting order for the main race on Saturday. The first cars will start the main race on Saturday at 08h00 and are expected at the finish at approximately 14h00 that afternoon.
