Futureracers Threepeat Repeat for Kilpatrick!

Queenslander, Mike Kilpatrick took his second successive Futureracers event at Sandown International Raceway across the weekend, taking out all three races, as he did one month ago at Oran Park.

Kilpatrick, in his Team Killa.com.au car didn't have it as easy as he might have liked, with Action Motorsport driver, Matt Kingsley really throwing out the challenge to his more experienced competitor, leading the opening event before spinning coming onto the front straightaway and spinning in race three with one lap left remaining whilst under pressure from Kilpatrick. The 37 year old Entertainment Consultant had to recover from an opening lap spin in race three to take the victory.

The second Team Killa.com.au driver, Phillip King, who put his team boss under enormous pressure in Saturday's opening race, was gifted with a second overall for the weekend in what was a much improved performance from the Dubbo (Western NSW) resident.

Sydney based driver, David Ratcliff found himself on the podium, consistency throughout the weekend proved to be the key. A last race spin coming out of the Dandenong Road corner put pay to his charge, after starting on the front row of the grid for that race.

Melinda Price, who was guesting in the Team Brock Futureracer, had a mixed weekend, being hounded by small mechanical gremlins, before a spirited drive in race three saw her battle strongly with King, a feature of the weekend.

Price, who is acting in a role as Futureracers female ambassador, highlighting the company's push to entice more females into Motorsport, commented that she had enjoyed her weekend and was looking forward to getting behind the wheel of a Futureracer on another occasion and challenge for a podium spot.

Warrick Spooner had an encouraging weekend in his home race after changing engines between Oran Park and Sandown in the Pestbusters, Pitstop Mower Shop car. Finishing a fine third in race one, Spooner's fuel cap came adrift in race two, whilst he finished in a solid sixth in race three.

Wayne Green also had a solid weekend in the Futureracers Team Car, again making great gains on his performances at Oran Park to finish in the top five overall, a third in race two the highlight.

Futureracers would like to pay tribute to Peter Boylan and the contracted staff of PROCAR, Jon Davison and his staff at Sandown Raceway and in particular CAMS for their assistance in preparing and hosting the event.

The next and first pointscoring round for Futureracers will be at the Winton PROCAR Champ Series event at the end of June.
