Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 Tires To Tackle 25 Hours of Thunderhill

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 2) - The Bridgestone brand's extreme high performance tire will take on one of racing's toughest challenges when the Frost Engineering team bolts Potenza RE-11 tires onto its purpose-built #48 BMW GTR for the longest endurance race in the world, the National Auto Sport Association's (NASA) 25 Hours of Thunderhill, December 5-6 in Willows, Calif.

Introduced earlier this year, the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 tire is designed with Bridgestone Corporation's proprietary Stealth Technology, which was originally developed for Formula One rain tires. So it's no surprise that in less than a year on the market, the tire has developed a loyal following among performance enthusiasts. Based on that reputation, Frost Engineering knows they can count on the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 tire to help them challenge for a win in the longest road race on the planet.

"The Frost Engineering Team is filled with skilled and dedicated personnel, and each brings a particular skill that is vital to its success," said Jerold Lowe, Chassis Engineer and Manager, Frost Engineering. "The great passion that fuels the team effort is perfectly matched with the leading name in motorsports tires - Bridgestone. The Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 tire's grip and longevity will help the #48 car run long stints without having to pit for tire changes."

"Partnering with the Frost Engineering team for the 25 Hours of Thunderhill is a great opportunity to showcase the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 tire," commented Rodreich Stotsenburg, Performance Marketing and Events Manager for Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (BATO). "The RE-11 is an extreme performance tire for the street and track - not a competition tire. Participating against R-compound tires and other competition tires in the longest endurance race will offer real world feedback about the Potenza RE-11 under intense track conditions. This will reinforce the product's multi-dimensional capabilities on track, in auto-cross, or on the street."

The #48 Frost Engineering car will be piloted by former Indy car and Le Mans driver Dominic Dobson, American Le Mans Series driver Dominic Cicero, and Sports Car Club of America drivers Jim Gallaugher and Andrew Foley. Look for highlights from the race, including an in-depth look at the Frost Engineering team, to air on VERSUS in early 2010.
