Ford Racing Mustang Challenge completes 2008 scheduule

Lime Rock Park Completes 2008 Schedule for Ford Racing Mustang Challenge for the Miller Cup Presented by BFGoodrich Tires

TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (December 14, 2007) -- Officials for the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge for the Miller Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires announced today that the series will be appearing at historic Lime Rock Park over the weekend of August 15-16, 2008, in conjunction with the NASCAR Busch East Series' Mohegan Sun 200, completing the inaugural season schedule.

A provisional schedule was released on December 6, announcing races at Road Atlanta (May 2-4), Mosport International Raceway (June 13-15), Cleveland's Burke Lakefront Airport (June 20-22), Barber Motorsports Park (July 18-20), New Jersey Motorsports Park (August 29-31) and a season-ending double-header at Miller Motorsports Park (September 19-21).

"There's a lot of Mustang history that has been made at Lime Rock over the years," said Series Director Lynda Randall, "not the least of which was local hero Sam Posey winning the famous Trans-Am race there in 1969 with a Mustang, and Parnelli Jones coming back to win in another Mustang the next year. We look forward to writing our own Mustang history at Lime Rock in 2008, and we think it's going to be a great circuit for our series."

The Ford Racing Mustang Challenge for the Miller Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires will be an eight-round series utilizing the new Ford Mustang FR500S fitted with BFGoodrich g-Force R1 tires. The series, which will be sanctioned by the Grand American Road Racing Association, will consist of eight races during the 2008 season. A television package will be announced in the near future.
