Ford Racing Mustang Challenge Announces Barbasol "Closest Shave" Award
Iconic brand signs on to reward closest finish in each race as well as season-ending award
Braselton, GA (2 May 2008)--With a field full of equally prepared Ford Mustang FR500S racers and more than twenty hungry drivers entered, the racing in the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge for the Miller Cup is expected to be close. And with the announcement of the newest promotional partner for the series, those race finishes could get even closer.
As the pace quickens in advance of the inaugural Ford Racing Mustang Challenge for the Miller Cup (FRMC) event this weekend at Road Atlanta, series organizers announced that Barbasol has signed on as a special contingency sponsor for the inaugural FRMC season.
The Barbasol "Closest Shave" Award will go to the driver that secures its final finishing position by the narrowest margin of all the finishing drivers in the race. The winner will get a $250 bonus award courtesy of Barbasol in each of the eight rounds of FRMC competition. At the end of the season, Barbasol will also offer $1000 to the driver who won a race by the narrowest margin through the year, adding even more incentive for the FR500S drivers throughout the season.
"We are pleased to be involved with the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge for the Miller Cup, and look forward to seeing some close finishes all year long," said Barbasol Brand Manager Brent Maurer. "We have some great plans for this partnership and are happy to be a part of this exciting new series."
Barbasol has been a top choice for men since 1919, and like the Ford Mustang, is made in America. The partnership will also include an exciting retail promotion during the 2008 season, with details to be announced in the coming weeks.
