BONETTI AND GIAMMARIA CONFIRM TO BE THE FASTEST AT IMOLA

Racing Team Edil Cris' work in preparation to the International GT Open 2009 Championship concluded with a virtual 'pole position'.

The Team from Bergamo completed yesterday at Imola the final testing day in sight of the first racing weekend, scheduled on this very track this 19th of April. Alessandro Bonetti and Raffaele Giammaria were on track behind the wheel of the F430 GT2 Ferrari having a special livery for the last pre-seasonal tests.

Lap times of both drivers were high-class. Almost 500km were scored while working on the optimal setup of the car. A lap time 1'45.988, the absolute fastest lap of the day, makes hopeful technical director Enio Bolsieri:

'We focused our attention mainly on the race pace by trying several solutions out in repeated long runs; the performance on the single lap was difficult to optimise due to the intense traffic on track. We have been consistently the fastest in the latest two tests: this is definitely a good starting point but things will get tougher during the racing weekend. We are anyway confident that we can start the season in a positive way".
