Isle of Man TT 2026: Dean Harrison takes dominant Superbike win

In Sunday's Superbike TT, Dean Harrison set the pace from a start, taking the lead into Glen Helen on the opening lap and never relinquishing it. He was never properly challenged for the entire six-lap event.

This is Harrison's sixth TT victory, and his first in the Superbike category.

Peter Hickman finished second, 15.580s adrift of Harrison's Honda at the checkered flag. Harrison gave up almost ten seconds of his advantage on the final lap, taking it easy with such an impressive gap at the white flag. Harrison's biggest margin was about 33 seconds, which he held going into the second round of pit stops.

Hickman had a spirited back-and-forth battle with Michael Dunlop throughout the event as they fought over the lower two podium places. But after the second round of pit stops at the end of Lap 4, where Dunlop spent four seconds longer in his box, Hickman moved ahead and never gave it back again. Hickman was the only non-Honda rider to finish inside the top five, riding a BMW 1000RR.

Dunlop claimed the final spot on the podium, 12.4 seconds behind Hickman and almost a full minute up the rode from Joshua Brookes in fourth. TT legend John McGuinness -- the winningest rider ever not named Dunlop -- finished a solid fifth at the age of 54.

Ian Hutchinson, Jamie Coward, Nathan Harrison, Mike Browne, and Paul Jordan filled out the remainder of the top ten.

The race featured seven retirements, while three additional riders did not make it to the grid.

Bikes will be back racing on Tuesday with the first Supersport TT race of the week (4 laps), and followed by the first Sportbike TT race (3 laps).
