JIM CLICK RACING ENTERS FORD RACING MUSTANG CHALLENGE CHAMPIONSHIP

(Tucson, AZ)--25 February 2009-Jim Click Racing is pleased to announce its return to the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge Championship in 2009. Fielded by 2008 Grand-Am KONI Sports Car Challenge Championship-winning squad Hyper Sport Racing, Jim Click Racing will look to continue its success after a strong campaign in the 2008 inaugural Mustang Challenge season with drivers Jim Click and Mike McGovern.

A racer to the core, Click keeps as fast of a pace off the track as he does on it by overseeing the Jim Click Automotive Group, which includes his impressive four Ford dealerships in Tucson, one in Orange Co as well as other makes and models in different markets. For Click, he's looking forward to his next opportunity to strap into a Ford Mustang FR500S after being in racing action recently on the high banks of Daytona, where he teamed with 2008 Mustang Challenge Champion Andrew Caddell in KONI Challenge competition as part of the Ford Racing Champions package. The duo were strong all weekend and scored a top-ten result together.

"I'm a Ford guy, so to be involved with a series like the Mustang Challenge is a tremendous thrill for me," said Click. "There is nothing like a full field of Mustang's going at it, and I've had a blast racing the FR500S. Jim Click Racing was proud to be a part of the first Mustang Challenge season, and we are really looking forward to coming back. There are more races, some new tracks, and I think this is going to be a great season. Hopefully we can do even better in the championship this year!"

Longtime Jim Click Racing driver, Mike McGovern has been officially entered in the 2009 Mustang Challenge season-opening event at Homestead Miami Speedway . He will look to start the season off with a strong result on the infield road course. McGovern, who has an enviable day job as the lead instructor at Bob Bondurant's Racing School of High Performance Driving, scored third in the 2008 Mustang Challenge and will look to get a fast start on the championship points in Miami. The Mustang ace will get two opportunities to do just that, as the South Florida lid-lifter will be a double-header race weekend.

After opening the season at Homestead, home of the Ford Championship Weekend, the Mustang Challenge will move on to another big Blue Oval event for rounds three and four of the 2009 season, staged at the 45th Anniversary Celebrations of the birth of the Ford Mustang, to be hosted at Barber Motorsports Park outside of Birmingham, Alabama.
