Martin looks to another win in Atlanta at SCCS event.

Rocky Mount, VA -John Martin III is looking for another win in the next Stock Car Championship Series (SCCS) event on the road course at Atlanta Motor Speedway on August 4. Martin, a Cornelius, NC resident, is not new to racing with previous experience in oval racing at Hickory and Concord but has converted well to road racing. Martin took the win at Lowe's after an exciting race, which included 6 lead changes between 5 drivers.

"The Lowe's event is different than the previous SCCS events as it combined the infield road course with the oval and it made for great racing. "The TNR Motor Sports team kept me calm as I driving back after a spin," said Martin. "They kept telling me I had plenty of time left to win this thing. 'Just keep your line and don't worry about passing yet.'"

Martin commented that "SCCS is just a little different - you get to drive stock cars, and you've got that horsepower, but you get on the road courses and you have a little more to do. There's plenty of room for people to come out and have a good time and watch a race. This is a great format - I love it."

The Stock Car Championship Series cars will be at the Atlanta Motor Speedway on the August 3rd and 4th. Practice and qualifying will be on Saturday with the race on Sunday Afternoon. For more information visit the SCCS web site at www.sccsracing.com.

SCCS, LLC is the founder of the Stock Car Championship Series (SCCS), which is a professional Stock Car Road Racing Series consisting of eight events throughout the eastern United States. SCCS combines the excitement of bump & grind late model stock car racing with the driving challenge of first class road course venues. SCCS cars are purpose built race chasses with 1999-2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Ford Taurus, Pontiac Grand Prix and Dodge Intrepid bodies with 400+ horsepower.
