Zoechling heading for podium in Qatar race

This coming weekend, Christopher Zoechling will take part in the Speedcar Series' inaugural night race held on the Losail International Circuit. And the Austrian is aiming for a podium finish.

So far, Zoechling's season has been a rollercoaster ride of excellent driving and technical failures. The latter have already cost him valuable points and prize money, but the 20-year-old is ready to fight back. "My races up to now have shown that I can finish on the podium, but unfortunately my car stopped me from finishing too many a times. Thus, I need to go all out on attack in Doha."

The Losail track, which has already hosted MotoGP's first ever floodlit race, will also see Speedcar's inaugural night race. "I love night events, which I know pretty well from endurance racing. It will definitely be a special atmosphere racing under floodlight, a bit like soccer matches or skiing. I really excited", the Dubai-based driver said.

However, Zoechling is even more excited about the entry of MotoGP star Marco Melandri, who will team up with Heinz Harald Frentzen for the Qatar event. "Valentino Rossi has already shown that those guys also know how to race a four-wheel-vehicle. I am sure Marco will do well, although our cars are pretty hard to handle."
