Portland, Oregon - Tommy Archer lead 37 laps in the number 36 Cinjo Racing/Motorcity True Performance Dodge Viper to win the Tommy Bahama 125 Trans-Am race at Portland International Raceway.

Starting from pole position, Archer had a rough beginning coming into contact with a Jaguar in turn one on the first lap resulting in a flat tire. After pitting to replace the tire, Archer rejoined at the back of the field. The hard charging Duluth, Minnesota resident retook the lead on lap 20 before a required pit stop.

Will Moody, team engineer, called Archer in on lap 25 to take the required six gallons of fuel before returning to the race in second place. On lap 28 Archer took the lead again and was never challenged, winning by a margin of some four seconds.

This represents the first win for Cinjo Racing and the first win for a new body style in the Trans-Am series. Archer lead 37 of the 65-lap event from pole position.

Tommy Archer, driver, #36 Cinjo Racing/Motorcity True Performance Dodge Viper: "The Cinjo Viper ran the same at the end as it did at the beginning. The turn one incident was a matter of two guys not wanting to give any ground and I came out on the short end with a flat. The team did a great job to change the tire and then the race came back to us. To give Cinjo their first win in the series is a great feeling. We have put a lot of work into the car and it finally paid off."

Joe Tranchida, owner Cinjo Racing: "Tommy did an excellent job to over come his pain to win the race. We had the fastest car all weekend, we took a calm approach to the race and were able to get our first win. The team has put in a lot of effort to develop the Viper and we still have a ways to go. Winning in just our seventh race is a great achievement."

The next race for the team will be at Road America on August 18.
