Stillwell dominates again at Mosport.

Bowmanville, Ontario (May 18, 2002) - Warren Stillwell, of Hartville, Ohio, led every lap but two today to take his sixth career SCCA Pro Racing Pro Spec Racer victory at Mosport International Raceway. Chris Funk, of Independence, Mo., battled with Stillwell early in the event but spun on the final lap giving second place to Neil Tilbor, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla. Shawn Morrison, of Conway, N.H., finished third.

Driving the #28 Stillwell Racing Pro Spec Racer, Stillwell started from the pole but was in second place by the time he entered turn one.

"I got passed by Funk at the start and didn't want to challenge him that early in the event," said Stillwell. "I wasn't really worried about getting back around him at first, but he was running well and I started to get a little worried."

Stillwell didn't have to worry long though as he retook the lead one lap later. Stillwell averaged 91.405 mph to win his first race of the season by 7.639 seconds.

From his eighth qualifying spot, Tilbor tangled with Keith Scharf and lost several positions at the start. He worked his way back through the field to pass Shawn Morrison for third place on lap 10.

"I was really working hard out there," said Tilbor. "After Scharf hit me, I fell back but was able to work my way to third and then I inherited second place when Funk had his problem."

Morrison, driving the #26 Motion Dynamics, also benefited from the Funk spin to take a career best third place finish in the Pro Spec Racer series.

"This is my highest finish ever in these cars," said an excited Morrison in victory circle. "I'm still amazed to have finished on the podium today."

Lee J. Shumosic, of Norton, Mass., and Trevor Hopwood, of Camden, Maine, completed the top five.
