SCCA ProRally Championship Presented By Hot Wheels on ESPN2 This Sunday
TOPEKA, Kan. (Aug. 13, 2004) -- The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, Round Five of the 2004 SCCA ProRally Championship Presented by Hot Wheels®, will be broadcast as part of the event's tape-delayed coverage on ESPN2 this Sunday, Aug. 15, at 12 p.m. (EDT).
The one-hour show, covering only the car portion of the Hill Climb field, will feature the June 26th run up to the 14,000-ft. summit, which served as Special Stage Four of the five-stage ProRally event.
SCCA ProRally drivers, many of whom were on the mountain for the first time, again turned in a magnificent performance as five individual class records, including both four-wheel and two-wheel drive, fell despite adverse weather conditions.
Superstars from several motorsports backgrounds were added to the mix in 2004 as well, including motocross legend Travis Pastrana and current Drifting star Rhys Millen, who both challenged the mountain as SCCA ProRally drivers.
