PORTLAND, Ore. - April 29, 2003 - Team NayKid Racing driver Cindi Lux headed south to the April 26 and 27 SCCA Cal Club Spring Double Nationals at Buttonwillow, Calif. At the end of the weekend, Lux went home with top awards and records in her pockets.
In the first race on Saturday, Lux qualified her No. 78 Kumho Tire/Redline Oil/Kodiak Racing Wheel Z06 Corvettes sponsored by Suburban Chevrolet second. At the checkered flag, Lux finished second while her teammate, Team NayKid Racing owner Scotty B. White finished third. Lux destroyed the existing race lap record by nearly two seconds with a 1:57.3 lap time. Lux finished third in Sunday's race and was elevated to second after SCCA Technical Officials verified that the first place finishing was in noncompliance.
Cindi Lux , No. 78 NayKid Racing Corvette Z06:
"This team rocks! Every team member has the best time with each other and truly respects one another. I really feel like the drivers are bringing out the best in each other. We are constantly working to maintain our strengths and addressing our weaker points. Scotty's qualifying lap on Sunday was mind blowing! I feel great about the team's one-two sweep and I hope we can keep up the momentum. I'm looking forward to driving in front of my hometown crowd in a couple of weeks."
This race marks the fifth win in six races this season for Naykid Racing and new lap records at every track. The team heads to Portland International Raceway in Portland, Ore. on May 16-18 for the team's Northern Pacific campaign.
