Will Turner Qualifies BMW M3 On Second Row For SCCA T2 Championship
HEARTLAND PARK RACEWAY, TOPEKA, KS, USA - October 13, 2006 -- Will Turner blasted away the T2 field at the SCCA Runoffs with a third-place starting position for tomorrow's T2 championship race at Heartland Park in Topeka , Kansas . Turner missed the pole by just .005 of a second to a Nissan 350Z. He is the highest starting BMW E46 M3 in the history of the T2 Runoffs.
Qualifying takes place over the course of the week and the Turner Motorsport M3 has been near the top of the time sheets all week long. His time in this morning's session put him third on the grid of 34 cars. The T2 race will be tomorrow, Saturday, October 14 at 1:30pm (Central). The Speed Channel will broadcast this race at a later date but if you can't wait, SCCA will host Live Timing & Scoring from their website.
Will Turner is racing a Toyo Tires/Turner Motorsport BMW M3 in the T2 class of SCCA Club Racing and has earned his way to the annual Runoffs championship by virtue of two wins and three second-place finishes in 2006. The M3 was built and prepared by Turner Motorsport and features a number of innovative products developed for Club Racing: Toyo Proxes RA-1 tires, TMS T2 Race Springs, TMS/Ohlins T2/Stock Class adjustable shocks, TMS sway bars, TMS brake duct kits, Shark Injector performance software, TMS/Borla custom racing exhaust, B&M Short Shift Kit, Pagid Brake Pads, Motul Brake Fluid, and OZ Racing wheels.
