Patrick Gallagher Selected for Team USA Scholarship Runoff
Up and coming United States formula car star Patrick Gallagher is proud to be selected as a candidate for the prestigious TEAM USA scholarship in 2010. Gallagher, who has made inroads to a professional career through his participation in the SCCA's junior formula car ranks, plans to head to the driver runoff in Chandler, AZ with one goal in mind, being selected as one of two driver's that will receive an opportunity of a lifetime. The driver's selected in the shootout will spend extensive time this fall racing in Europe.
Gallagher, and seven others will head to The Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving to battle it out on their proving grounds. The shootout will take place September 3rd in the Phoenix suburb.
"I am very excited for our shootout," Gallagher said. "It is an absolute honor and privilege to be named as a candidate for the Team USA Scholarship, I can't thank Jeremy Shaw and all the supporters that make this possible enough!"
Gallagher continues his charge for a National Championship in a privateer funded effort piloting a F500 and Formula Enterprises in SafeRacer SCCA National Championship competition.
In 2009, Patrick broke on to the SCCA National scene. Moving from Karts to Cars he wasted little time garnering "Pole" position for the iconic SCCA Runoffs at Road America. His rookie car campaign saw Patrick rack up the Ohio Valley Region F500 National Championship and Ohio Valley Region Champion's Cup Award along with Rookie of the Year honors. He has since won the 2010 edition of the June Sprints in F500.
