Jim Schultz, Philadelphia PA., defending Northeast Division Champion in the Formula 500 class finished second at Lexington Ohio's famed Mid Ohio Sports Car track. Driving the VERIZON Invader, Formula 500 car, the Sport Car Club of America's 2000 Rookie of the Year qualified sixth in a rain shortened Saturday afternoon qualifying session. With rain still falling at the start of Sunday's National event, Schultz drove through spinning cars and slick track conditions to a second place finish. Twice slowed avoiding other cars spinning and crashing off the slick track, Schultz was not able to catch race winner Kenny Price from Dewey IL. The next race for the defending champion will be a two race SCCA National event at Pocono Raceway's road course, August 5 and 6.
Jim would like to thank his Schultz Racing Team supporters and suppliers for their performance winning products and services.
