Contingency Prizes Add to RallyCross National Championships

TOPEKA, Kan. (August 18, 2010) -- At this weekend's SCCA RallyCross National Championship event in Fountain, Colo., Aug. 20 -- 22, a variety of companies are offering top finishers and National Champions more than $22,000 in combined cash and prizes.

Automobile manufacturers are among those who have stepped to the plate with a program for competitors in 2010. Volkswagen, Subaru and Mazda are all offering cash awards to top finishers. Fast drivers this weekend behind the wheel of a Volkswagen will earn $200 for a win and $100 for a runner-up finish. Subaru rewards the top three finishers in the Stock All Wheel Drive, Prepared All Wheel Drive and Modified 4 classes with $1250 for a win, and $750 or $500 for a podium finish. Mazda offers a prize ($500, $250 and $125) to the top three finishers in each class as well.

Yokohama Tire offers the top three finishers of the Prepared and Modified categories a contingency prize. Each winner running four Yokohama tires will earn $500, with second and third-place finishers earning $250 and $100, respectively.

Regardless of the make of tires, those mounted on Team Dynamics wheels are also eligible for contingency funds. Winners in the Prepared and Modified categories will earn a $200 product certificate for a win, and a $100 certificate for runner-ups.

Continuing a program that stretches across all of the SCCA disciplines, National Champions who are also subscribers to Grassroots Motorsports Magazine and carry the magazine's decal on the car will earn a $100 bonus from the publication.

For more information on these contingency programs and how to register to participate, visit www.scca.com/contingencies.aspx?hub=2&cid=15. Drivers must register for contingency programs prior to competing. Program descriptions should be read carefully to ensure all requirements are met. Failure to meet any listed requirements will result in forfeiting of awards.
