SCCA Pro Racing names Campbell interim president

Campbell To Serve As SCCA Pro Racing Interim President

TOPEKA, Kan. (January 14, 2010) -- SCCA Pro Racing announced today that Tom Campbell, Chairman of the SCCA Pro Racing Board of Directors, will serve as interim president and CEO beginning Monday, Jan. 17.

Campbell will oversee the day-to-day operations of SCCA Pro Racing until a permanent successor is found for outgoing President and CEO Bob Wildberger, who earlier announced his resignation after four years at the helm of the sanctioning body.

The new executive search is currently underway, led by a committee made up of members of the SCCA Pro Racing Board of Directors. The new president and CEO will oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization that currently counts the World Challenge Championships, Trans-Am Series, Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup, Pro Spec Racer Ford, Pro Formula Enterprises, and the F2000 Championship Series among the motorsports properties that it owns or sanctions.

"The Pro Racing staff is working diligently to ensure that everything is ready for the opening of our race season in March," Campbell said. "As the interim president it will be my job to make sure that they are fully supported and that our commitments to our customers are met without impact during this change in leadership at SCCA Pro Racing."

Elected Chairman of the Board in December, Campbell is a 35-year member of the Sports Car Club of America and a past Chairman of the Board for SCCA Inc.

A wholly owned subsidiary of Sports Car Club of America, Inc., SCCA Pro Racing is a leading sanctioning body for motorsports events in the United States. A member of the Automobile Competition Committee of the United States (ACCUS), SCCA Pro Racing operates and sanctions a number of sports car and open-wheel racing entities.
