Knoll on a Roll in Atlanta; Doublecross Winners Go for Seconds at National Tour

ATLANTA, Ga. (May 30, 2008) -- Several winners from the Tire Rack® SCCA ProSolo Doublecross at Atlanta Motorsports Park were looking for a second trophy at the following weekend's Atlanta National Tour, held May 24 -- 25.

Fresh off of winning Ladies Class 1 at the Doublecross, but missing out on the Ladies Challenge, Tara Knoll, of Danville, Va., earned her first National Tour win. Driving a BMW 325is, Knoll outpaced the RPGproductions.com Honda Civic Si of Amy Smith, from Tucker, Ga., by 0.184-second for the Street Touring® X Ladies win.

James Feinberg, of Cary, N.C., was another repeat winner. Driving a D Stock Team Grab & Go Acura Integra, Feinberg slipped behind Georgian Danny Carroll's Integra on Saturday, but had a superb comeback on Sunday. Feinberg took the DS win over Carroll, who had just graduated high school on Friday, by 0.157-second.

In Street Touring S, Marc Osgood, of Simpsonville, S.C., was a repeat Atlanta winner. Osgood's www.brandywinedmg.com Honda Civic topped an under the eather Andy Hollis in the Soulspeed/ART/GRM/Powercurve Honda Civic by 0.326-second.

Other drivers who took home both a ProSolo and National Tour win in Atlanta include: Carter Thompson (B Stock), Mike King (Street Touring S2), Anthony Hodges (D Street Prepared) and Jinx Jordan (F Street Prepared).

Although he didn't pull the double, Tevin Richardson, of Canton, Ga., still has to be satisfied with his performance in Atlanta. After finishing second in G Stock and making it to the final elimination of the Hawk Super Challenge in the ProSolo event, Richardson collected the G Stock victory in National Tour Competition. Richardson's MINI Cooper S beat out the Big 5 Tire Mini Cooper S of Jeff Schaadt, from Gladewater, Texas, by 0.823-second.

Speaking of MINI Coopers, Scott Bourne, of Georgetown, Ky., proved you don't need one to win H Stock. Instead, Bourne took class honors with a DATS Racing-Kumho Motorsports Honda Civic EX, finished 0.364-second ahead of Jeff Jacob's MINI Cooper.

Joel Fehrman, of Smyrna, Ga., returned to Street Modified competition for the first time since the 2006 Atlanta Doublecross. Fehrman's TopSpeed/ZZYZX Motorsports Subaru WRX STi only completed one solid run on Saturday as the car's turbo hose slid off on the second and third runs. Despite the hose problems, after day one, Fehrman wasn't far behind leader George Bonafede, of Eustis, Fla., in the Team MSCC/Martin Mafia Mitsubishi Evo VIII. After Ferhman received some help from STS2 competitor Ian Baker to secure the turbo hose, it was Bonafede's turn to encounter car problems. The Evo sputtered on course during its second run and then refused to start once back at the grid. Bonafede was able to make a third run in Chi Ho's Subaru STi, but Fehrman sped away with a 1.150-second victory.

Street Touring X competitor Chris Shenefield, of Dallas, Pa., earned Saturday's Pace Lap Challenge Award for his consistency in run times. Shenefield's Redshift Motorsports Honda Civic Si entered times with only a 0.206-second variance on Saturday. On Sunday, it was Trey Davis, of Knoxville, Tenn., and the Cueball Racing Subaru Impreza taking the Pace Lap Challenge Award, clocking three runs in HS with only a 0.141-second difference. Both drivers are now entered into a year-end drawing to win a new Pace Pursuit® trailer.

The Solo Performance Specialties Top Performer Awards were presented to Joyce Ann Nordell and Formula Junior B winner Corrie Smith.

Devens, Mass., is the next stop on the Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Tour, where Moore Airfield will host the Devens National Tour, June 7 -- 8. For more information and for full results from the Atlanta National Tour, visit www.scca.com/solo.
