MacCachren Focused On SCORE Trophy Truck Championship As They Put The #3 Riviera Racing Trophy Truck in The Top Five at the SCORE Baja 500

Laguna Hills, CALIFORNIA -- Riviera Racing set their goals high for the 2007 season, inspired and driven by three early victories amongst the nation's top desert racing teams racing in the elite Trophy Truck class. The SCORE Trophy Truck Championship sits in the number one position on the Riviera Racing goal chart, as Mark Post and Rob MacCachren race the #3 Riviera Racing Trophy Truck across North America's barren deserts.

The SCORE Baja 500 is regarded as one of the most challenging races in the world. At 424.2 miles, this season's Baja 500 was expected to be the most challenging in over a decade. That combined with a stacked field of tough competitors, this year's race tested man and machine against all odds. Those that finished sighed a welcomed relief when they crossed the finish line in downtown Ensenada, Baja California.

Riviera Racing's Rob MacCachren started off the line roaring through the first couple hundred miles as a man on a mission and he didn't stop until he turned the truck over to team owner -- Mark Post. Pushing the #3 Trophy Truck through the paces at top speeds, Post charged along the coast of the Pacific Ocean, heading north through the newly introduced tight and technical section outside of Uruapan, a mere 60-miles from the finish line.

Post recalled, "We ran a solid race and overcame a few challenges where we lost a few minutes. We set a pace that we thought would both get us to the finish line and give us the opportunity for the win. Unfortunately, we came up a little short. My hat's off to those drivers who beat us. Our strong finish puts us only three points out of the Trophy Truck series championship point's lead."

Tackling the fast early stages, as well as the difficult section behind Mike's Sky Ranch, veteran desert racing champion, Rob MacCachren commented, "The tight technical section behind Mike's is challenging for these big trucks. The BF Goodrich 39" Baja T/A KR lived up to its reputation and withstood the punishment of Baja's toughest terrain. I pounded the heck out of those tires and they survived without a single flat. Racing in Baja is tough enough. Not having to worry about tire performance and wear has always been the way when racing on BFGs. I can't say enough about the toughness of our BFG tires."

Riviera Racing's strong performance at the SCORE Tecate Baja 500 positions them in a top three spot in the overall series point's standings. They are poised for the upcoming SCORE Terrible's CUP III event, where Rob MacCachren, a well-renown short course champion, and Mark Post will campaign to reach victory lane.

After finishing the SCORE Baja 500 in the 4th place overall and the Trophy Truck class, Riviera Racing continues to implement their strategic race plans in their quest to claim the 2007 SCORE Trophy Truck Championship.
