Here's the results for SCRA's first visit to Doug Bainton's Bakersfield Speedway in Oildale, CA:

Bakersfield - 03/25/95

MEYER BENEFITS FROM "PASSING MASTERS DASH" FORMAT; FIRST SCRA WIN FOR OWNER BATTERSBY

These are the results of SCRA's third scheduled event for 1995, run at Bakersfield Speedway in Oildale, CA. Twenty-seven (27) cars qualified for tonight's event.

There were several flips during the night's racing, but fortunately no one was seriously hurt. Jeff Fiscus was transported to a local hospital after complaining of back pain. The other racers walked away from their misfortunes uninjured. Others getting upside-down included Lealand McSpadden, Troy Newsome, and Richard Harvey, Jr.

The new Passing Masters Dash format definitely benefited Jerry Meyer tonight, as he won both the Passing Masters Dash and the Main Event, after a 12th place qualifying time. This gave Roy Battersby his first SCRA win as a car owner. Following Meyer to Steve Vodden's checkered flag was Mike Kirby, Ricky Gaunt, Rip Williams and J.J. Yeley.

This was SCRA's first visit to promoter Doug Bainton's track. Inspite of heavy Southern California rains earlier in the week, the track was very well-prepared, leading to a new track record by defending SCRA champion, Ron Shuman. He broke the old non-wing sprint car track record with a 12.312 clocking.
