Over 300 entries expected June 3-6 in Ensenada, Mexico, for Rd 3 of five-race 2010 SCORE Desert Series; Real time 'live' draw results to be broadcast on www.race-dezert.com

LOS ANGELES--With an organized effort to give back something tangible back to the people of Mexico's Baja California peninsula, Saturday's 'live' drawing for start positions for June's 42nd Annual Tecate SCORE Baja 500 desert race has taken on a whole new meaning for SCORE International.

Being held this Saturday at the new MasterCraft Safety facility in Santee, Calif., the event is being hosted by Robbie Pierce's MasterCraft Racing and Sal Fish and the day will also include a charity raffle and a 'Tacos for Charity' stand for a Baja children's cancer foundation, emergency donations for survivors of the recent earthquake in Baja Calif., several SCORE race vehicles on display, racer appearances, music and vendor displays from several of the leading companies in the industry.

Round 3 of the five-race 2010 SCORE Desert Series, the World's Foremost Desert Racing Series, will feature over 300 entries from over 30 US States and over 10 countries, competing in 28 Pro and 7 Sportsman classes for cars, trucks, motorcycles and ATVs, will be held June 3-6 in Ensenada, Mexico. Traditionally one of the most popular events on the SCORE schedule, over 100,000 spectators are expected to enjoy the world's best desert racers in action at this year's Tecate SCORE Baja 500. The finalized course is expected to be approximately 430 miles.

Conducting the drawing will be SCORE International CEO/President Sal Fish, in his fourth decade leading the world's foremost desert racing organization.

Saturday's Tecate SCORE Baja 500 drawing will be streamed live on the internet at www.race-dezert.com. Displays will open at 10 a.m. and the drawing is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.

"SCORE and Baja are synonymous in many ways," said Fish, who began his SCORE career in 1974, soon after it was founded in 1973. "Robbie Pierce is providing a wonderful opportunity to give something back to the people of Baja in a very organized effort and we look forward to being a part of it. This is the 37th year that SCORE has been producing desert races in Baja and while racers individually and as small groups have certainly been extremely generous in a variety of ways over the years, this is a call to our entire SCORE family to participate as a group during a significant time of need. This is a wonderful outreach project and I am honored to help lead the effort."

The SCORE live drawing event at MasterCraft is also conducting a raffle for the Castro-Limon Cancer Foundation which provides treatment for children stricken with the disease. Proceeds from the Locos Mocos and Baja Pits group 'Tacos for Charity' sales are also going to benefit the Foundation.

"We are asking that individuals and teams bring requested relief items and/or cash donations to MasterCraft on Saturday," Fish added. "The Federal and State governments of Mexico have reached an agreement to allow all humanitarian support and supplies to the recent victims of this tragedy to cross the border free of any duty or permits."

In an effort to help jump-start the aid project for the Mexicali Earthquake relief program, MasterCraft CEO Robbie Pierce, who is also a prominent SCORE racer, has agreed to match the total of the funds raised for the foundation from the Locos Mocos and Baja Pits Taco stand to give to the earthquake victims.

On the SCORE website is a list of supplies requested by the Mexican government to be brought to MasterCraft on Saturday as well as the information regarding cash donations to special accounts that have been set up in both the U.S. and Mexico.

More than 25,000 people lost their homes and were left without basic utilities and services when a 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit the Mexicali Valley on April 4.

SCORE will also be announcing a date shortly when Fish will lead a caravan of vehicles with all of the supplies collected to the impacted area which is approximately 30 miles south of Mexicali.

Donations of supplies and/or cash will also be accepted until May 1 at the SCORE office at 23961 Craftsman Road, Unit A, in Calabasas, Calif. Information is available to calling the SCORE office at 818.225.8402.

MasterCraft Safety's new complex is located at 9335 Stevens Road in Santee, Calif.

The relocation moves the company's operations from the previous facility on the west side of the 67 Freeway to a newly purchased and renovated facility located just east of the 67 Freeway and north of Woodside Avenue in Santee.

The newest official member of the SCORE sponsor family this year, MasterCraft Safety completed its first year of a three-year agreement as the co-title sponsor of the MasterCraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe desert race.

The SCORE Trophy-Truck team of San Felipe co-title sponsor MasterCraft Safety celebrated with all three of its Jimco-built race trucks finishing in the top 10 in class.

The team was led by MasterCraft Safety CEO Robbie Pierce, Santee, Calif., who finished a career-high fourth in SCORE Trophy-Truck and seventh overall in a Chevy Silverado while teammates Rob MacCachren, Las Vegas and Will Staats, Valencia, Calif., who were eighth and ninth respectively out of 27 sturdy starters in SCORE Trophy-Truck in MasterCraft Racing Ford F-150 trucks.

MasterCraft has rolled over its special $10,000 cash contingency purse from San Felipe to this year's Tecate SCORE Baja 500.

The Locos Mocos and Baja Pits teams will be preparing and serving the tacos with proceeds to benefit the Castro-Limon Cancer Foundation to provide treatment for children stricken with the disease. The raffle will also benefit the same foundation with a variety of prizes including numerous items from MasterCraft along with a set of four BFGoodrich Tires.

Among the companies expected to have displays Saturday at MasterCraft are: Jimco, Fox Shox, AlumiCraft, Racer X and Stewart Race Works, Walker Evans Racing, 4 Wheel Parts, Off-Road Warehouse, Racer Services and Offroad Evolution.

In order to be included in Saturday's drawing, entries must be received in the SCORE office via FAX, overnight delivery or regular mail on or before TODAY (April 19). Entries will be accepted up until race morning with each vehicle receiving the next available start position and number within the class.

As with all SCORE Baja races, a special drawing will be held for the top 10 finishers in both SCORE Trophy-Truck and the unlimited Class 1 in the previous SCORE Baja race who are entered in this race by today. The qualified racers are from this year's MasterCraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250.

The top 10 SCORE Trophy-Truck finishers in San Felipe were: Jesse Jones, Robby Gordon, Chet Huffman, Robbie Pierce, B.J. Baldwin, Andy McMillin, Ed Stout, Rob MacCachren, Will Staats and Rob Bruce. All but Bruce are entered so far in SCORE Trophy-Truck for this race.

The top 10 Class 1 finishers in San Felipe were: Armin Schwarz, Daniel McMillin, Randy Wilson, Dan Martin, Eric Chase, Cody Parkhouse, Paul Keller, Conan Barker, Mario Acosta and Kory Halopoff.

All but Barker and Acosta are entered so far in this race.
