We Have To Work Hard To Be Competitve

We can't say that Giacomo Piccini's debut in Albacete was an unforgettable one

The times set during the free practice sessions didn't anticipate anything good: the car was too slow for Giacomo to keep up with the other drivers.

There's still a lot of work to be done to compete for the Spanish Formula 3's front line.

Giacomo Piccini

"I'm leaving Albacete with the awareness that I still have a long way to go. I just hope that I soon get a chance to do a test session with the team so we can work on the car that has proven to have a lot of problems.

I wasn't able to find the right balance in Albacete and I felt that the engine wasn't pushing hard enough. Everyone can see the result: bad qualifications and 2 races that should be forgotten. However, I think it's important for me to highlight what happened in Race 2.

After starting off well in race 2, I was able to gain a few positions but had to work hard to fight off my opponents who were close behind. Race 2 was then stopped due to an accident but I started off well again the second time round. I managed to conquer the fifth place but my car wasn't allowing me to keep up with the rhythm of the front liners. I actually had a hard time keeping the car on track. I tried my best to keep up the rhythm but my single-seater was at times impossible to drive. For this reason I suddenly lost control of the car and went off track. Both the team and I know that we have to work hard to be competitive."
