FORMULA MASTER CELEBRATES 2008 SEASON

As Formula Master celebrated the end of its 2008 season today with its annual award ceremony, the Series was hailed as important in helping young drivers acquire the right skills for their future careers.

Formula Master, which has already established itself as a credible international stepping stone for upcoming single-seater racers in its first two years of competition, held the event at the Brackley headquarters of the Honda Racing F1 Team where one of the team's Senior Race Engineers Jock Clear was a guest speaker.

Also speaking at the event, Series Manager Alessandro Alunni Bravi said: "Our drivers are at the critical point in their career where they have to develop their racing skills as well as their abilities outside of the car. That's what will make the difference if they reach Formula One, so the work that Formula Master is doing is important."

The award ceremony honoured the Series top teams and drivers as well as its sponsors, ahead of the 2009 season, which promises a series of significant changes.

As well as an aerodynamic update, the addition of air brake ducts and new exhaust system and engine software for the Formula Master car, the Series will follow a new race format and visit two new circuits; Spa-Francorchamps and the Hungaroring in support of the Formula One World Championship.
