ROSSBURG, Oh. - When the All Star Circuit of Champion Sprints invade Eldora Speedway Saturday evening, April 6 for their Midwestern opener, Chad Kemenah will be out to conquer two goals - an 'outright' Eldora victory and the lead in the All Stars' point standings.

Kemenah, last year's runner-up in the hotly contested All Star points race, does show an Eldora triumph on his resume, ironically enough, at last year's Eldora initial All Star race, but that came after the apparent victor, Phil Gressman, failed to meet the All Star minimum 1200# weight requirement in a post-race inspection. Kemenah backed that up with a runner-up finish at Eldora in August, but a dismal 19th place finish in the season closer in September left him frustrated and out of the points race.

Following the annual Florida series in February, Kemenah sits in third place, only 17 markers behind current leader Lance Dewease and three points behind runner-up Tim Shaffer. Neither of those two have indicated plans for a full-time assault towards the All Star championship and their presence at Eldora is doubtful, leaving the door open for Kemenah to assume the points lead.

A win at Eldora would boost his All Star career total to seven, with a pair of those coming on the famed Eldora high-banks.

His nemesis will be defending All Star champion, Kenny Jacobs, who not only leads the All Star win list with 95 triumphs, but shares that same status at Eldora, with 21 victories in the 107 All Star races contested at Eldora to date. Jacobs has one at least one All-Star feature at Eldora in eight of the past nine years.

Joining the All Stars on April 6, in the first of their three 2002 Eldora appearances, will be the United Midwestern Promoters (UMP) Modifieds and Eldora Stocks in a tripleheader program.
