Williams Grove to host All Stars May 2 for Early Bird, then series heads to Lincoln May 3.

CAMARGO, IL - Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa. has rescheduled their rained-out Early Bird Championship race for Friday night May 2. This event will be sanctioned for the first time by the Haulmark All Stars and features a $26,700 purse with $6,000 to win. The traditional Early Bird Sprint Car Championship has a long history and is one of the top events at Williams Grove each season and sets the pace for the winning driver to be recognized as one of the top drivers at the Grove. The race is part of Williams Grove's Diamond Series for 2003. Then, the next night, Saturday night May 3, the All Stars head to the nearby Lincoln Speedway in Hanover, Pa. for a regular All Star show.

This pair of events rekindles the rivalry between the Pennsylvania Posse and the All Stars. In a recent All Star event at Sharon Speedway, three of the Central Pa. drivers, Lance Dewease, Fred Rahmer and Mark Smith towed to Sharon to challenge the All Stars. In the Sharon race, Dewease was the early leader until All Star regular Jason Johnson slid under him and into the lead to win the show.

The Williams Grove event marks the return of the All Stars to the famed Mechanicsburg half-mile for the first time since May 7, 1999 when Fred Rahmer was the winner. The All Stars have competed at Williams Grove 11 times in the past, with 11 different race winners!

Lincoln Speedway has hosted the series 16 times with nine different race winners. Fred Rahmer leads the Lincoln All Star winner's list with five wins, followed by Dewease with four wins. Kenny Jacobs was the last All Star regular to visit Lincoln's victory lane, that win coming in 2000.

"America's Series, The All Star Circuit of Champions" will present a slate of over 60 sprint car race dates in 2003 from February to October in action at 31 speedways in 17 states. America's favorite dirt track series has presented fans with the largest average car count and greatest number of different race winners in the United States since 1980.
