ALLSTAR: Ohio Speedweek preview

PONCE INLET, FL - The 19th Annual Ohio Outlaw Sprint Speedweek has one new location for the $200,000 All Star Circuit of Champions sanctioned week of racing this year. Ohio Speedweek will be held Sunday, July 1 through Saturday, July 7, with action at seven different tracks over seven consecutive nights of racing. For the first time ever, Portsmouth Raceway Park will host the $10,000 to win Speedweek finale.

The original (and often copied) format of seven consecutive nights of sprint car racing at seven different Ohio tracks will commence at Attica Raceway Park at Attica under the direction of Brad Cailor and Charlie Fisher on Sunday, July 1. The following night Wayne County Speedway at Orrville, will present the Monday show on July 2.

Jim Ford will give Fremont Speedway's Speedweek show on Tuesday, July 3 the billing of the "Budweiser 40," paying $6,000 top the winner. Next, the haulers head south of Chillicothe to the Karshner's high-banked track, K-C Raceway at Alma for the mid-week Wednesday, July 4 race.

Ed Skillman's Sharon Speedway, in Hartford, a half-mile oval, hosts the fifth leg of Speedweek on Thursday, July 5. The action moves to Limaland Motorsports Park on Friday, July 6 where Jeff and Mark Jarvis roll out the red carpet at their quarter-mile track; located just west of Lima in Allentown. They will also pay $6,000 to the feature winner.

For the first time ever the $10,000 Saturday, July 7th finale will be run at Max Warnock's Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, OH. The week-long series points champion will also be crowned Saturday.

As a preview to Speedweek, Eldora Speedway in Rossburg will be hosing their 47th Anniversary race Saturday night June 30 as a regular All Star show, paying $5,000 to win. This makes eight nights in a row of sprint car racing for Ohio fans and drivers.
