Purses increased for All Star Sprint Florida runs

PONCE INLET, FL - Volusia Speedway Park promoter Dick Murphy has announced he is increasing the total purse from last year for his upcoming Feb. 7-10 All Star sprint car races.

He has increased Saturday's A-Main in all positions, now paying $5,000 to win and $400 to start the feature. Sunday's A-Main purse has been increased in 6th to 15th spot. The total increase is $6,400, bringing the four-day total purse to $100,600. This means the Thursday and Friday night mains will pay $4,000 to win, with Saturday paying $5,000 and Sunday's Volusia finale paying $7,000. East Bay Raceway in Gibsonton (Tampa) has also increased their All Star Winternationals purse over last season. With events slated for Wed. through Sat. Feb. 13-16, the first three features will pay $4,000 to the winners with Saturday's finale paying $26,000/win to the 26th annual Winternationals champion. In last year's event, track owner Stanley Kolan paid $25,000 to win on the final evening. East Bay's total four-day purse is $148,760 and includes several special dashes and qualifying bonuses plus a wheelie contest on Saturday night. The All Star season kicks off on Wed. Feb. 6 at Putnam County Speedway in Palatka, FL, with a full All Star program paying $5,000 to win out of a total purse of over $26,000.
