All Star Sprint Race Results - Selinsgrove Speedway By Scott Hall

SELINSGROVE, PA - Fast Freddy Rahmer captured his fourth All Star sprint feature of the year Sunday night at Selinsgrove Speedway, worth $5,000 aboard the familiar Al Hamilton No. 77. "The car was working real well," Rahmer said of his dominating win in the 30-lap contest. "We didn’t change anything all night. Moon (Byers) said no lapped cars so I gassed it up for those last four laps." Rahmer rode American Racer tires and utilized Chevrolet engines for the win. All Star series points leader Kenny Jacobs rode home second, despite several problems. "The race car was pretty good tonight. We had a flat on that red and put eight plugs in the tire and thank goodness it lasted. On that last restart a lapped car took the air off my wing and I washed out to the fence in turn one and two." Jacobs wheels the black No. 6 Jacobs Motorsports Eagle Chassis with Kriner Engines for power. Joey Saldana started on the ButlerBuilt Motorsports Equipment Hot Seat pole position with Rahmer alongside outside the front row. Rahmer led from the drop of the green with Saldana second, followed by Lance Dewease, Jacobs and Todd Hestor. As the race wore on, Rahmer diced expertly through lapped traffic, stretching his advantage over Saldana and the rest of the pack. Lap 13 proved unlucky for Saldana, as his steering broke, and he collected Alan Cole in the process. The red came out, and both No. 17’s were done for the night. Rahmer was still on top, now over Hestor and Jacobs, with Jacobs grabbing second soon after the green came back out. A lap 23 yellow again slowed the action when Dean Jacobs stopped with a flat tire. Now the running order was Rahmer, K. Jacobs, Jeff Shepard, up from fourth, Greg Hodnett and Keith Kauffman. Hodnett took a spot from Shepard inside turn two on lap 24 as Rahmer pushed his advantage to six seconds when the final caution appeared on lap 26. He pulled away to a full straightaway lead as the checkered flag flew with K. Jacobs second by two car lengths over Hodnett, in the Apple Motorsports No. 12. Shepard’s Zemco Headers machine was next over Todd Shaffer and Keith Kauffman. Dave Ely, Paul McMahan, Kasey Kahne and Frankie Kerr rounded out the top ten. "We tightened up the car and ran new Goodyear Tires," Hodnett said of his third place run. The United Expressline heat fell to Kasey Kahne, the Southwest Expressline heat to Hodnett, the Southwest Glass heat was won by Alan Cole and the United Specialties heat went to Kenny Jacobs. Paul McMahan won the Commercial Truck & Trailer Dash with Joey Saldana the United Expressline B Main winner as drivers from six different states won the six prelim races. Todd Hestor was the fast qualifier. Time Trials: 1. Todd Hestor, 16.979; 2. Greg Hodnett, 17.018; 3. Lance Dewease, 17.110; 4. Kenny Jacobs, 17.218; 5. Fred Rahmer, 17.249; 6.
