(BLOOMINGTON, IN. June 16, 2000) The only kind of racing that will go on at Bloomington Speedway tonight is boat racing. This morning a huge storm hit Bloomington Speedway dumping more than an inch of rain on our nicely prepared racetrack. Rivers or water are winding their way through the pit area. The rain that we have now would almost certainly make racing here tonight impossible. The rain that is predicted would remove any small trace of doubt. Bloomington Speedway appreciates our fans and our competitors; and our integrity with them is our most important asset. For this reason, we are canceling tonight's program now before competitors and fans invest their time and money to travel to Bloomington Speedway.
We encourage you to join us next Friday night when we will feature the Pennzoil Cup Sprint Cars, Tire and Wheel Center Super Stocks, and the O'Neal Wood Products Modifieds. Grandstand admission will be only $10 and pit admission will be $20. Pit gates open at 4:30 PM. Grandstand gates open at 5:30 PM. Hot laps begin at 6:30 PM; and racing begins at 7:30 PM.
